Zhen is a final year BSc student in Chemistry from Northwest University in Xi'an, China. Before she came to Cardiff as a visiting student, she has already been awarded the "Exemption for the entrance examination for excellent MSc students" for carrying her MSc study in Prof Yuan He's group at Northwest University, she will spend 6 months in Jin Lab working on the biochemical characterisation of large and small beta-6-sulfate-N-acetylglucosaminidases.

Silan is a 2nd year undergraduate student also from Northwest University. She will be working on the unnatural amino acid incorporation for small G protein RhoA.
